Booking Stage Hypnotists – What are the Important Considerations?
There is a wide range of experience and expertise among Stage Hypnotists. You want to make sure that your performer has adequate experience performing for the type of audience that will be at your event.
Here’s what you can do to make sure you get the right Hypnotist performer for your event entertainment:
Review the promo video closely. Does the video make you feel like you are working with a professional? Are the events shown in the video similar to the event you’re planning?
For example: If you are hosting a corporate event, you want to see a promo video showing ADULT participants in a corporate setting, NOT high school students!
Make sure they’ve been performing for at least five years. You don’t want a “newbie” learning how to perform hypnosis shows at your event!
Ask for at least TEN testimonial letters from other satisfied clients. Only extremely satisfied clients take the time to write a testimonial letter!
Ask yourself: Am I satisfied that the Stage Hypnotist can perform a clean show that is free of inappropriate comments, or questionable material?
Questions to Ask Potential Stage Hypnotists
Here are the specific questions to ask any prospective Stage Hypnotist performer to ensure you are working with a true professional. You are looking for the right combination of training, experience, and stage presence that gives you the feeling that, “This is a performer that can ‘WOW’ my audience!”
- Are you a FULL-TIME Stage Hypnotist entertainer?
- How long have you been performing Comedy Hypnosis Shows? Watch out for amateur Hypnotists claiming to have “years of entertainment experience” when they were actually working as a birthday party magician or “performing” as a DJ.
- Where online can I find videos of you performing at events like the one I am planning? Corporate audiences and student audiences are dramatically different.
- Can you send me a copy of your testimonial book?
- Can you send me a copy of your liability insurance certificate?
- Are you a Certified Hypnotist with the National Guild of Hypnotists? If not, where did you get your training? Did they learn their craft at a weekend seminar, or are they expertly trained and certified by a professional organization?
Personally, I’ve been performing Comedy Hypnosis Shows full-time for over 15 years. In addition to conducting entertainment programs, I’m a qualified Clinical Hypnotist helping clients use Hypnosis to achieve their personal goals such as weight loss, becoming a nonsmoker, etc.
What details should be discussed prior to the event?
- An adequate performance area is important because Stage Hypnotists work with several volunteers. A professional entertainer will provide a sound and stage diagram to help you plan out the room requirements.
- Promoting the Comedy Hypnotist Show to your attendees in advance of the event will dramatically improve the quality and quantity of the volunteer participation. A professional entertainer has prepared promotional files making it an easy task to promote your entertainment program.
What other advice do you have for clients booking a Stage Hypnotist Entertainer?
Stage Hypnosis show volunteers are “self-selecting”, meaning the Hypnotist opens up the stage to anyone who wants to volunteer without personally selecting the volunteers individually. That being said, the “best” clients are excited to be one of those volunteers!
After reviewing any Stage Hypnotists’ promotional materials, do you have the feeling that the Hypnosis Show volunteers will have a great time participating in the performance? If not, move on to the next entertainer!
